The Regulation on the Classification of Activities (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 91/2026) introduces a new Classification of Economic Activities (KD 2025), which will apply as of 1 January 2027. The new classification is aligned with the European NACE Rev. 2.1 standard and reflects developments in modern economic activities and business models.
The Serbian Business Registers Agency (BRA) will automatically align the registered codes of predominant business activities with the new classification, ex officio and free of charge, without requiring businesses to submit separate applications.
Once the updated registration data has been published, companies and entrepreneurs are advised to verify that their newly assigned activity codes accurately reflect their actual predominant business activities.
Where an existing activity code corresponds to multiple codes under KD 2025, businesses may request a change to the assigned code, free of charge, within 30 days from the commencement of application of the new classification, subject to the conditions prescribed by the Regulation.
The reclassification of business activities does not, in itself, affect the legal continuity of business operations or the validity of existing contracts, permits, licences and other previously issued documents, unless otherwise provided by specific legislation.
Although the alignment process will be carried out automatically, businesses are encouraged to review their updated registration details in a timely manner to ensure that their registered activities accurately reflect their actual business operations.
